Lace and More Lace!

Hey, want to learn about lace knitting? We have a class series for you! It's based on Michelle Hunter's book Building with Lace. You can make a long sampler stole with nine different lace sections, plus applied borders. Learn something new with each section.

Wait, what's that? You already enjoy knitting lace, and while this sounds like a fun class, you want something different? (Maybe you even already took this class last time we offered it!) How about a Knit Along? How about a series of Knit-a-longs that cover the same themes as each section of the class? Like this:

September: Building with Lace section #1: Lace Basics -- Techniques: provisional caston, adding a lifeline, kfb, yo, k2tog, ssk, CDD (central double decrease), tips on using stitch markers and reading charts

Apply all of these techniques with our Mini Knit-along: Queen Mab Cowl -- Show off a beautiful yarn with elegant, simple lace diamonds

October: Building with Lace, section #2: Japanese Stitches -- Techniques: PKOK (pass, knit, yo, knit), bobble, tips on knitting backwards and more about reading charts

Apply October's skills to our Mini Knit-along: Manitou Mitts-- A small project with intricate textures as seen in Japanese stitch dictionaries

November: Building with Lace, section #3: Double Yarn Overs -- Techniques: double yarnovers, SK2P (slip 1, k2tog, pass slipped stitch over), wrap 3 (bring a cable needle), tips on maintaining stitch count, and more about reading charts

OR Mini Knit-along I Left My Heart KAL (COMING SOON!)-- A small shawl pattern from designer Rosemary Hill (Romi) featuring double yarnovers

And that's just to get started! We will continue this series of classes and Knit-a-longs in February 2027.
