This version of Tsubame was introduced in February 2020. Named for the barn swallow that migrates to Japan during cherry blossom season, this is a classic DK-weight single-ply silk/wool blend. Each oversized skein contains 656 yards making it ideal for an endless variety of one-skein projects!

Fiber: 50% Silk, 25% Wool, 25% Nylon

Yardage: 656yds

Needle: US 7-9

Gauge: 16-20sts = 4in

Weight: DK

Care: Hand wash, lay flat to dry.

Note: Not to be confused with the Noro yarn of the same name that was discontinued.

For shipping addresses in the United States, we offer FREE* 2 Day Priority Shipping on orders over $75!

Most orders are processed and on their way to you within 1 day.

Our standard form of shipping is USPS First Class or Retail Ground depending on weight. Once your order is processed, you will receive an email with your tracking information. You should expect your package to arrive within 2-8 days, per the USPS guidelines.

If you just can't wait and want your item(s) faster, we also offer the option of shipping USPS Priority. Once your order is processed, you will receive an email with your tracking information. You should expect your package to arrive within 1-3 days, per the USPS guidelines. Please note the free shipping option does not apply if you choose this form of shipping.

For those who just can't wait, we also offer the option of shipping USPS Priority Mail Express. Once your order is processed, you will receive an email with your tracking information. You should expect your package to arrive within 1-2 days (typically next day), per the USPS guidelines. Please note the free shipping option does not apply if you choose this form of shipping.

Please be aware that we can only track packages through the same tracking number and systems available to you. If your package is late, please be patient. If it has been 10 days past the estimated delivery date, or arrives damaged, please contact us and we will do everything within our control to make sure you get the item(s) you ordered.

*Looms, ceramics, umbrella swifts, and other heavy/bulky/fragile items are NOT eligible for free shipping.

Ashford Wheels & Looms: All products are drop shipped directly to your shipping address. These products are not available for in-store pickup. Shipping for these products is charged as follows: $10.00 Flat Rate Shipping. $12.00 Dropship Fee, $5.00 surcharge if under order $100.00.

Covid 19 Update: We are shipping your orders as quickly as we can, but please understand that we are working with a limited staff at a slower pace than usual. The same is true for USPS. Right now, shipping can take up to 10 days longer than they're estimating. This is because of a drastic reduction in air travel, as well as a significant decrease in the USPS workforce, all while the demand for items being shipped has increased significantly.
